BBK 16-20 Chevrolet Camaro SS 6.2L V8 Oil Separator Kit - 1930
BBK 16-20 Chevrolet Camaro SS 6.2L V8 Oil Separator Kit - 1930
Keep Your Oil Where it Belongs. The BBK 2016-2019 Camaro SS 6.2L Oil Separator is CNC machined from solid billet aluminum. The oil collection tank features a knurled base for easy removal to drain the captured oil and an O-ring seal to prevent leaks. A high efficiency, multi-stage filter system is used to collect the very fine oil vapor droplets and deposit them into the easily removable bottom. This ensures only clean, oil-free air is able to pass through into the intake. Easy Installation. This drivers side oil separator kit can be installed in minutes without special tools. The kit includes easy to follow instructions and factory style PCV hoses and connectors for a simple plug and play installation on your Camaro SS. How Does it Work? A BBK Oil Separator Kit is a must-have for the 6.2L engine because during the process of venting crankcase pressure through your PCV valve into the intake, oil vapor can collect and coat the inside of your intake manifold. That oil vapor eventually ends up coating your intake valves and burning in your combustion chamber creating carbon buildup. Excess oil in the combustion chamber can even dilute your gas, lowering its octane level. This happens on all engines but is a very common issue with modern high compression, high RPM engines.

Many people often ask, how did the brand BBK come to be and what does BBK stand for. It's actually the initials of company founder and current CEO Brian Murphy, his best friend from high school Barry Morrison and Brian's younger brother Ken Murphy. Growing up in a small town in the northeast during the 1970's & 80's, Brian would read car magazines like Hot Rod & Car Craft and dream about Southern California and the performance industry as it was the birth place of the car culture and home of many companies such as Edelbrock & Hot Rod Magazine. Upon graduating high school in 1987, Brian convinced Barry to join him in driving out west to Southern California to start a new life and attend college. A few months later after seeing how popular the new breed of electronic fuel injected pony cars like the Mustang and Camaro had become, Brian had the idea of starting a company that would sell performance bolt ons for these new platforms. Back in 1988 the leading aftermarket companies such as Summit Racing were focused on performance for the old school carbureted muscle cars and really didn't understand Detroit's latest fuel injected platforms.
